·      الدعم الفني وإشراك المزارعين

·      تقديم الدعم الفني المستمر للمزارعين على امتداد سلسلة قيمة القمح، بما في ذلك تجهيز الأرض، واختيار البذور، وإنتاج المحاصيل، واستخدام الأسمدة، والري، وإدارة الآفات والأمراض، والحصاد، وعمليات ما بعد الحصاد.

·      إجراء زيارات ميدانية منتظمة لحقول المزارعين لتقييم مراحل نمو المحاصيل، وتقييم الممارسات الزراعية، وتقديم توصيات مُصممة خصيصًا لتحسين الإنتاجية والجودة.

·      تقديم عروض عملية ودعم ميداني لضمان اتباع أفضل الممارسات الزراعية.

·      الرصد والتقييم وإعداد التقارير

·      مراقبة الأنشطة الزراعية طوال دورة الإنتاج، وتقديم حلول عملية وفي الوقت المناسب للتحديات الناشئة، مثل تفشي الآفات، ومشاكل خصوبة التربة، أو عدم كفاءة الري.

·      تتبع وتوزيع واستخدام المدخلات الزراعية (البذور، والأسمدة، والأدوات، ولوازم الري) والتحقق منها لضمان الشفافية والكفاءة.

·      إعداد تقارير فنية دقيقة عن التقدم والتحديات والنتائج، وتقديمها في الوقت المحدد إلى المدير المباشر، مع ضمان توافقها مع متطلبات الجهات المانحة وأهداف المشروع.

·      التعاون مع فرق الرصد والتقييم في سوريا لتسهيل جمع البيانات، والتقييمات الميدانية، ومراقبة أداء التدخلات الزراعية.

·      التخطيط والتنفيذ

·      قيادة تقييمات الاحتياجات في المجتمعات المستهدفة لتحديد الثغرات، وتحديد أولويات التدخلات، وضمان استجابة الأنشطة بفعالية لمتطلبات المزارعين.

·      تحديد الجداول الزمنية المثلى للعمليات الزراعية الرئيسية (الزراعة، والتسميد، والري، والحصاد) بما يتماشى مع التقويمات الموسمية وخطط عمل المشروع..

·      بناء القدرات ونقل المعرفة

·      تنظيم والإشراف على دورات تدريبية فنية للمزارعين، وأخصائيين الإرشاد الزراعي، والمدربين حول تقنيات إنتاج القمح المُحسّنة، وإدارة المدخلات، ومعالجة ما بعد الحصاد.

·      تقييم كفاءات المدربين، وضمان جودة التدريب، ومراقبة فعالية أنشطة بناء القدرات.

·      التنسيق والتكامل

·      العمل بشكل وثيق مع فرق المشروع لدمج الأنشطة الزراعية مع مكونات المشروع التكميلية، مثل الوصول إلى الأسواق، وتعزيز سلسلة القيمة، وتنويع مصادر الدخل.

·      ضمان مساهمة التدخلات في سلسلة قيمة القمح الأوسع من خلال معالجة اختناقات الإنتاج، وتحسين كفاءة استخدام المدخلات، وتحسين جودة المنتج لتحسين القدرة التنافسية في السوق..

·      إدارة المخاطر والامتثال

·      رصد وإدارة المخاطر، مثل تفشي الآفات والأمراض، والظروف الجوية السيئة، ونقص المدخلات، واقتراح تدابير التخفيف لحماية الإنتاجية.

·      ضمان امتثال جميع التدخلات الزراعية للمعايير التنظيمية، ولوائح الجهات المانحة، ومتطلبات الاستدامة البيئية.

Since its establishment in 1992, IHH has been dedicated to providing aid to individuals in need, including those affected by catastrophes, war, natural disasters, and various forms of adversity such as injury, disability, starvation, homelessness, and persecution. The Agronomist, based in Idleb Governorate, Syria, will play a key role in implementing the wheat value chain support activity by providing technical guidance and day-to-day follow-up with farmer beneficiaries. Working in close coordination with local agricultural stakeholders, the Agronomist will support beneficiary verification, monitor crop growth and harvest, oversee the distribution of in-kind agricultural inputs, and ensure that interventions are effectively adapted to the local context. Each Agronomist will be directly responsible for supporting approximately 125 farmers within the project’s target of 500, conducting regular field visits, delivering tailored technical assistance, and ensuring activities are aligned with project objectives, donor requirements, and timelines. The position reports to the Project Officer or Senior Project Officer and requires strong collaboration with other team members to achieve successful project outcomes.

·       Technical Support and Farmer Engagement

·       Provide continuous technical assistance to farmers across the wheat value chain, including land preparation, seed selection, crop production, fertilizer application, irrigation, pest and disease management, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.

·       Conduct regular field visits to farmer fields to assess crop growth stages, evaluate farming practices, and provide tailored recommendations to improve productivity and quality.

·       Offer hands-on demonstrations and on-site support to ensure the adoption of best agricultural practices.

·       Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

·       Monitor agricultural activities throughout the production cycle and provide practical, timely solutions to emerging challenges such as pest outbreaks, soil fertility issues, or irrigation inefficiencies.

·       Track and verify the distribution and utilization of agricultural inputs (seeds, fertilizers, tools, irrigation supplies) to ensure transparency and efficiency.

·       Compile accurate technical reports on progress, challenges, and outcomes, and submit them on time to the line manager, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and project objectives.

·       Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) teams in Syria to facilitate data collection, field assessments, and performance monitoring of agricultural interventions.

·       Planning and Implementation

·       Lead needs assessments within target communities to identify gaps, prioritize interventions, and ensure activities respond effectively to farmers’ requirements.

·       Determine optimal timelines for key agricultural operations (planting, fertilization, irrigation, and harvesting) in line with seasonal calendars and project work plans.

·       Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer

·       Organize and supervise technical training sessions for farmers, extension workers, and trainers on improved wheat production techniques, input management, and post-harvest handling.

·       Assess trainer competencies, ensure training quality, and monitor the effectiveness of capacity-building activities.

·       Promote farmer awareness on sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices to enhance long-term resilience of wheat production systems.

·       Coordination and Integration

·       Work closely with project teams to integrate agricultural activities with complementary project components such as market access, value chain strengthening, and livelihood diversification.

·       Ensure interventions contribute to the broader wheat value chain by addressing production bottlenecks, improving input use efficiency, and enhancing product quality for better market competitiveness.

·       Risk Management and Compliance

·       Monitor and manage risks such as pest and disease infestations, adverse weather conditions, and input shortages, proposing mitigation measures to safeguard productivity.

·       Ensure all agricultural interventions comply with organizational standards, donor regulations, and environmental sustainability requirements.

·       Maintain strong documentation and accountability systems for input use, distribution, and field-level activities.

University degree in agriculture, agronomy, or related field.

·       Minimum 3 years of experience in agricultural extension or field agronomy.

·       Field experience in humanitarian or development agricultural projects.

·       Knowledge of local agroclimatic conditions and practices in Syria.

·       Strong technical knowledge in wheat production and sustainable farming.

·       Ability to advise farmers with practical, field-oriented solutions.

·       Good record-keeping and communication skills.

·       Arabic native speakers.
